當(dāng)習(xí)大大在聯(lián)合國(guó)發(fā)展峰會(huì)上跟各國(guó)領(lǐng)導(dǎo)人暢談合作發(fā)展時(shí)，彭麻麻也沒(méi)閑著。26日，彭麻麻在聯(lián)合國(guó)總部參加“教育第一促進(jìn)可持續(xù)發(fā)展”高級(jí)別活動(dòng)，并全程用英文演講！

彭麻麻用流利的英文講述了自己繼承父親使命，開(kāi)展教育事業(yè)的故事。她談到了教育公平，談到了自己的“中國(guó)夢(mèng)”。

Director-General Bokova, ladies and gentlemen,
尊敬的博科娃總干事，女士們先生們：

It gives me a great pleasure to join you for this important initiative as the UN marks its 70th anniversary.
我非常高興在聯(lián)合國(guó)成立70周年之際出席這次教育第一倡議高級(jí)別會(huì)議。

Education is very close in my heart. My father grew up in a very small village in China. In those days, not many villagers could read. So my father opened a night school to teach them how to read. With his help, many people learned to write their own names; with his help many people learned to read newspapers for the first time; with his help, many women were able to teach their children how to read.
我非常關(guān)注教育。我的父親生長(zhǎng)在中國(guó)的一個(gè)小山村，那個(gè)時(shí)候，許多農(nóng)民都不識(shí)字。當(dāng)時(shí)我的父親開(kāi)辦了一所夜校，教大家認(rèn)字。在他的幫助下，許多人第一次寫(xiě)出了自己的名字，第一次看懂了報(bào)紙和書(shū)刊，許多女性也能教自己的孩子認(rèn)字了。

As his daughter, I know what education means to the people, especially those without it. After generations of hard work, China has come a long way in education. I myself am a beneficiary of that progress. Otherwise I would never become a soprano and a professor of musical.
在父親的教育下，我自幼就清楚地認(rèn)識(shí)到，教育對(duì)每個(gè)人，尤其是對(duì)得不到教育的人來(lái)說(shuō)是多么的重要。經(jīng)過(guò)幾代人的努力，中國(guó)的教育事業(yè)取得了顯著成就。我自己就是中國(guó)教育發(fā)展的受益者。否則我也永遠(yuǎn)不能成為一名女高音歌唱家和音樂(lè)教師。

I am following my father's footsteps by teaching at China's Conservatory of Music to help continue China's success story. I want to thank Director-General Bokova and UNESCO for naming me the Special Envoy for Women and Girls Education. I am truly honored to work with the UN and do something about Global Education. I have visited many schools around the world. I've seen first-hand on how much we can do for education.
我現(xiàn)在也追隨父親的腳步投身教育工作，在中國(guó)音樂(lè)學(xué)院任教，為推動(dòng)中國(guó)教育事業(yè)的發(fā)展盡綿薄之力。我想感謝博科娃總干事和聯(lián)合國(guó)教科文組織授予我“促進(jìn)女童和婦女教育特使”稱號(hào)，我非常榮幸能夠與聯(lián)合國(guó)共同努力，為全球教育貢獻(xiàn)一己之力。我走訪了世界很多國(guó)家的學(xué)校，我也親眼看到了在教育方面我們可以做出更多的努力。

Education is about women and the girls. It is important for girls to go to school because they will become their children's first teacher someday. But women still account for over half of the world's poor in population and 60% of adults who can't read.
教育要關(guān)注女性和女童。女童要上學(xué)，這是很重要的一點(diǎn)，因?yàn)樗齻冮L(zhǎng)大之后會(huì)成為自己孩子的啟蒙老師。但是，全球貧困者中，女性過(guò)半，不識(shí)字的成年人中，女性占到了60%。

Education is crucial in the addressing such inequalities. In China, Spring Bud Education Program has helped over 3 million girls go back to school. Many of them have finished university education and they are doing well at work.
教育是改變女性不公平待遇的重要途徑。中國(guó)的“春雷計(jì)劃”幫助了300多萬(wàn)女童重返學(xué)校。其中很多人已經(jīng)從高校畢業(yè)，并成為了社會(huì)的有用之才和優(yōu)秀分子。

Education is about equality. In poor countries and regions the number of school dropouts is astonishing. We call for more educational resources to these places.
教育要倡導(dǎo)公平公正。在很多貧困國(guó)家和地區(qū)，輟學(xué)比例很高。我們呼吁，加大對(duì)這些地區(qū)的教育投入。

Education is about the young people. Young people are the future. Education is important because it not only gave young people knowledge and skills but also help them become responsible citizens. As the UNESCO special envoy and the mother myself my commitment to education for all will never change.
教育要面向青年。青年是我們的未來(lái)。教育之所以重要，是因?yàn)樗粌H要教授知識(shí)和技能，而且也幫助青年人成長(zhǎng)為具有強(qiáng)烈責(zé)任感的公民。作為教科文組織的一名特使和一位母親，我也愿意恪盡職守，實(shí)現(xiàn)教育的進(jìn)展和進(jìn)步。

Many years ago my father made a small difference in his village. Together we can make a big difference in the world. I was once asked about my Chinese dream. I said I hope all children especially girls can have access to good education. This is my Chinese dream. I believe one day education first will no longer be a dream, it will be a reality enjoyed by every young woman on this planet.
多年前，我的父親通過(guò)他的努力，改變了他的小山村。今天，只要大家攜手努力，就能改變世界。有人問(wèn)過(guò)什么是我的中國(guó)夢(mèng)，我說(shuō)，我希望所有的孩子，特別是女孩，都能接受良好的教育，這就是我的中國(guó)夢(mèng)。我相信，總有一天，教育第一的夢(mèng)想將不會(huì)是一個(gè)夢(mèng)想，將會(huì)成為全世界年輕女性共享的美好現(xiàn)實(shí)。
